I’m a friend of Tamara C. We met at Girls Night at her house! Dr. Abhyanker is my Dad’s doctor, too. Dad and Mom LOVE him! BTW…Dad was diagnosed with Stage 3 Non-Hodgkins 12+ years ago. Still in remission…and at 83, even won the “fastest male walker” and “oldest walker” in the Cole Camp, MO Cinco de Mayo run/walk last month! Keep the faith, girl. It’s one step at a time, and you have to take every single one of those steps to get to the finish line to win!

I tried to sign up on the National Marrow Donar Registry’s web site and it’s not working properly. It won’t take me past the sign up page.

I am from Iowa originally where the dutch settled two colonies Pella, and Orange City, Iowa. Next to these communities are also German Communities and over time many individuals are Dutch/German. My mother was full dutch, so I am 1/2 dutch and I married a 1/2 german, for example. Maybe a person could go to the Dutch communities in Orange City, Iowa and Pella and ask for individuals to be tested who are willing. This is just a suggestion.

I am of mainly german desent with a great grandparent who was of dutch desent. I did not join the registry as I will be 63 the end of this month. The age limit was 60. This would not stop me but there might be a reason why this would disqualify me. I am not familiar with the details required to donate.

I grew up in N.W. Iowa; my father was full German and my mother Norwegian. I lost my mom to lymphoma in 1983. I am healthy and live in Lee’s Summit, Mo. and watched your story on t.v. I just registered at “Be a Match”; hoping I can help Kris or another individual.

Kris, I have been praying for you and your family for the last several weeks after learning of your diagnosis. I have both registred to be a donor and shared your story with others to encourage them to do the same; including a handful of whom I know in Minnesota that may share your heritage. My prayer is that you and your family will know a peace and joy beyond understanding as you walk through this, and that your faith will not waiver. We serve a miracle working God who looks for opportunities to demonstrate his power and goodness to those who trust in him. Isaiah 46:3-4

    To him be the Glory!

Hi Kris…Don’t know if you remember me or not but I was a classmate from RC. I live in south KC and I work in Leawood. I’ve posted your story on my Facebook page and I know you’ll find a donor soon. I’ve got everyone that I know praying for you…. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do to help out, run errands or whatever, ’cause I’m right in your neighborhood!
